No. The State of Maine does not require an arborist license to remove the browntail nests using a drone. We will always refer you to an arborist if the work on your trees requires one.

Probably not, but we will definitely reduce the impact on your trees and the likelihood that your family will be affected by the caterpillar hairs. None of the current methods will eradicate the pest altogether because new moths can invade from affected trees that could be some distance from your property.

Most likely, yes. Flying a drone for commercial applications requires an FAA license and all commercial drone flights have to follow FAA regulations as well as any local bylaws that may restrict their use. We check and confirm that it is both legal and safe to fly at each location we work.

Yes. We may not be able to help if we cannot safely fly the drone to access the affected parts of the tree. On the other hand our approach often allows us to treat trees that would be very expensive or impossible to treat using conventional techniques.

Our rates are comparable to using a licensed arborist employing conventional techniques. However, we can generally complete the job more quickly so often the use of the drone is more economical.
